What will the 2020/2021 Season at WWP NJ Shore look like?

2020 is a challenging year. Many of us are under pressures that we have never before experienced and we are asked to navigate a future that is uncertain. Rest assure, you’re not the only one feeling this way.

Fortunately, God, in His Divine Providence, has given us the solutions needed to ease our uncertainties. At Walking with Purpose we walk on a faith journey together, exploring these solutions.

In response to COVID-19, WWP NJ Shore will look different than seasons passed but we are striving to alleviate concerns. We are offering two study format options: “In Person at Parish” or “Virtual.” We hope this Q&A will help you decide what works best for you. But if you have more questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Hot Topics

There are so many issues in our culture we feel passionate about, but we don’t always realize that discussion of our favorite hot button issuesmight make another woman uncomfortable, so at Walking With Purpose (WWP) we leave all hot button topics at the door, and this includes politics.  We uphold our WWP Honor Code and  focus on the truth that is revealed through Scripture, the Catechism, and our study materials.  We walk alongside women, encouraging each woman in her relationship with Christ and we allow the Holy Spirit to do His work of transforming hearts.

As we get closer to the election, we ask each of our women to adhere to this honor code and refrain from emailing or texting any political information to your group members.

Small Group Assignments

As part of our response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we are so grateful to be able to offer small group studies that fit each participant’s comfort level.  Whether you signed up for in-person or virtual, as coordinators we pray and lean on guidance from the Holy Spirit when we form small groups.

WWP’s intention is for you to stay in your group for the entire season so you can form a group bond, adding to your spiritual transformation.  Consistency in a group also maintains confidentiality.  In order to maintain consistency with the groups, grow in spirituality and in community, we encourage each woman to make the commitment to stay with the option that they originally chose and the assigned small group.

If you have chosen an in-person group and circumstances dictate that you can no longer attend in person, please let your small group leader know.  We will then reassign you to a virtual group, which you will need to continue with for the remainder of the year.

We understand that it is necessary to miss some of the sessions due to life demands.  During the weeks that you are out, we hope that you will continue with your daily lessons.  However, we cannot accept call-ins due to the disruption of the group dynamics, and the additional burden it places on the small group leader.

We believe this policy will be best for our small group dynamics, but we are not infallible.  We are always open to the stirrings of the Holy Spirit and are happy to entertain any situation and take it to Him in prayer.

Yours In Christ,
