What will the 2020/2021 Season at WWP NJ Shore look like?

2020 is a challenging year. Many of us are under pressures that we have never before experienced and we are asked to navigate a future that is uncertain. Rest assure, you’re not the only one feeling this way.

Fortunately, God, in His Divine Providence, has given us the solutions needed to ease our uncertainties. At Walking with Purpose we walk on a faith journey together, exploring these solutions.

In response to COVID-19, WWP NJ Shore will look different than seasons passed but we are striving to alleviate concerns. We are offering two study format options: “In Person at Parish” or “Virtual.” We hope this Q&A will help you decide what works best for you. But if you have more questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

In Person at Parish Meeting Q&A:


Q. Where are we meeting?
A. All Walking With Purpose (WWP) NJ Shore (those that met at St. Denis and St. Marks) will now meet at St. Denis School (119 E. Virginia Avenue, Manasquan 08736).


Q. Why are we meeting at St. Denis instead of St. Mark’s?
A. Due to the size of the classrooms at St. Mark’s and the need to social distance, we have decided to move those meetings to St. Denis where the classrooms are larger.

Q. What will our gatherings look like?
A. You will proceed directly to your assigned classroom. At this time our hospitality will be suspended.

Q. How many participants will be in each small group?
A. We will keep the groups to 6-8 women in order to social distance.

Q. Is a mask required?
A. Yes, masks will be required while you are in the building.

Q. What cleaning/sanitizing procedures will be followed?
A. All spaces that will be occupied by WWP small groups will be cleaned before and after our gatherings. However, you are welcome to bring your own sanitizer and wipes for extra precautions.

Q. How will the Coffee Connect Talks be handled?
A. We will watch the coffee connect talks while sitting 6 feet apart either in the St. Denis cafeteria or in the Church. Following the video, we will disburse into small groups either in the normal classrooms or in groups in the church. At this time, our hospitality will be suspended.

Q. What time will we be meeting?
A. We will be meeting on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 until 9:00 PM and on Wednesday afternoons from 12:30 until 2:00 PM. If you can’t make either Day/Time, please indicate on the registration form, and someone will contact you.

Q. When will we begin the study?
A. Our first meeting will be on October 6th for the Tuesday evening groups and October 7th for the Wednesday afternoon groups. Our calendar for the year can be accessed here:

Q. What if I don’t like the “in-person at the Parish” meeting format and want to switch to a “virtual” meeting once the program has begun?
A. We will make every attempt to accommodate each person’s needs during the year. If you have a concern, please contact one of the Co-Coordinators listed below.

Q. Will child care be provided?
A. At this time, child care has been suspended.

Q. How can I register?
A. You can register for the program on our webpage at Registration for the 2020/2021 Season If you have already registered, you will receive an email confirming your registration and asking you to update your preferences.

“Virtual” Meeting Q/A:

Q. What will a virtual meeting look like?
A. We will be using Zoom to conduct our small group meetings.

Q. Do I need a Zoom account?
A. You do not need a Zoom account, however, you will be asked to download the Zoom app on your device the first time you use it.

Q. Do I need a computer?
A. You will need a computer, an iPad or a smartphone in order to access Zoom.

Q. How will I know how to access the Zoom meeting?
A. You will receive an e-mail from your small group leader with a link that you can click on to get onto the Zoom meeting.

Q. What if I don’t have a camera on my computer or am not comfortable having the camera on?
A. You can join a Zoom meeting with the audio only.

Q. How long will the virtual meeting last?
A. The calls will last between 40 and 60 minutes.

Q. How will the Coffee Connect Talks be handled?
A. You will be asked to watch the Coffee Connect Talks on your own before the Zoom call. Your small group leader will send you a link to watch the video.
